ANXIETY / DEPRESSION / SELF-ESTEEM
Jewish wisdom tradition declares that life does have a purpose, and that purpose is to enjoy all kinds of goodness and pleasure. Judaism, in a nutshell, may be seen as a set of wisdom on how to cultivate all the kinds of pleasure that life offers us. This vision of Judaism is what we call the Art of Amazement.
But sometimes anxiety, depression and low self-esteem can get in the way.
JSL is proud to offer a way around these obstacles. Yisroel Roll, Director of Therapy Programs, has developed a Gestalt Therapy which combines Experiential Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. The goal of this Gestalt Therapy is to learn a different way of “being” in the world which bypasses the worries and anxieties which cause racing thoughts, heart palpitations, tension, hyperactivity. Clients may or may not be taking medication for these symptoms. But medication without learning a new way of being is seldom effective.
This approach has helped hundreds of people overcome anxiety. Similar therapies are effective for overcoming depression and for raising self-esteem.
In the initial two-hour session (either in person or via Skype), you will learn the basic technique. Short weekly follow-up sessions will help you stay the course until you have fully overcome your challenge.
